Watch a few good streaming zoom players. But mostly just focus on playing on 2 tables and make every right move One day I move up, I swear! I am a fish in zoom either actually I guess in every game still heh but yeah this sounds quite inspiring.

Practice, copycat, just follow what works and eventually you'll become successful. However, in poker, it's slighty harder than anywhere else. Hi Olifatas, In zoom I play tighter. I may win less, but I sure lose less. Cheers, VS. I cannot really understand how is possible to crush normal tables and get rekt at fast-fold ones for such simple!

Unless you are super nitty and Yall know that and simply don't pay you off unless they are nutty and rekt you! This is the only logic I can find. As a mainly fast poker player, zoom is just harder Second reason is that you have less reads.

I'm not on stars anymore but when i was playing there zoom was very reg infested too. One of the worst format on a room to grind, unless you're trying to achieve a promotion or a bonus. zoom is definitely tougher for sure, the fish to reg ratio is worse than the usualand zoom fishes also make fewer preflop leaks by default because of the fast fold option.

I'm going to assume you are a young guy in your early 20s based on your join-date. Don't make the same mistakes I did, trying to make a living from online poker. Of course it's comfortable playing at home but i would like to think that most people are in poker for the short-term only.

If you starss play online, go play some other smaller apps. Play regular games, don't chase stupid VIP rakeback deals. Don't play Zoom formats if you are playing for money. Zoom is really fun and comfortable to play but is by far the worst format for profit.

Still, almost all of them find their win rates hovering around the low single digits and are struggling to move up in stakes. But why? Is poker really that hard to beat, or is there something else going on?

These days, PokerStars Zoom seems to be the crown jewel of the MSNL reg, which is why I feel obligated to offer the following counterpoint: Zoom is fucking stupid.

I realize that may be somewhat incendiary, but hear me out Players have to play more hands to turn a profit, which means the site gets paid more rake.

This is the same reason why many poker sites do not offer high stakes heads up games. I think this is usually a mistake for a couple reasons:. Even if you are able to increase your hourly rate in theory by playing Zoom, this does not account for the fact that lower win rates increase the probability of a loss.

This will be detrimental to your mindset. More importantly, it will massively increase your risk of ruin. The Reason You're Losing at Low Stakes

All players start a standard poker tournament with the same amount of chips. As play goes on, the compulsory blinds and antes increase at regular intervals, and when a player loses all of their chips, they are out of the tournament. The last player standing is declared the winner, and is rewarded with the biggest portion of the prize pool.

You can find tournaments listed under the Tourney tab desktop , or under the Tournament tab accessed via the Lobby mobile. Selecting any tournament allows you to find out everything you need to know, from the game being played to the buy-in, structure, and also whether registration is open.

In all of our tournaments, each player is assigned a random seat and table. In games with a rotating dealer, the dealer button will start on seat 1.

More detailed information about the tournament can be seen in the tournament lobby. With rare exceptions, if you win a seat to an event via one of our satellite tournaments, you can choose to unregister and receive T-Money instead.

T-Money can then be used to register for other tournaments. On some occasions, we may need to unregister you from a tournament on your behalf. If you find that you need us to do this, visit our Help Center to find out ways to contact us, and we will be happy to assist you.

In an All-in Shootout , every player is automatically put all-in on every hand until there is a winner. Once registered, players do not need to be logged in to take part, as there are no gameplay decisions to be made once the tournament begins.

All-in Shootouts are notably different from all other poker tournaments, as no gameplay takes place — tickets are often distributed as part of promotions, with every participant in an All-in Shootout having identical odds of winning the advertised prizes.

For example, in a 8-player Fifty50 tournament, 4 will be paid. Half of the prize pool will be distributed equally among the 4 winners, and the other half of the prize pool will be distributed among those same 4 players based on the chip count percentages at the end of the event.

The 5th-8th place finishers win nothing. The Fifty50 tournament lobby displays the approximate amount per chips to be paid out when the tournament ends.

The value displayed in the Fifty50 tournament lobby is rounded down to the nearest cent, but payouts are calculated so that the entire prize pool is paid out. Note that the final payouts may experience small rounding differences in order to ensure that the total payouts equal the prize pool.

In many of our cash tournaments, the prize pool is guaranteed to reach a specific amount. Just as in other Shootout tournaments late registration is not allowed in Heads-Up tournaments.

For most Heads-Up Multi-Table Tournaments, the time limit for unregistration is five minutes as opposed to two minutes in most other tournaments.

Please check the Tournament Info window for details regarding unregistration from any specific tournament. There may not always be a number divisible by the power of two 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64 registered for a particular Heads-Up tournament, which is necessary to fill a 'bracket'.

For example, if 10 players enter a Heads-Up tournament, there would be more than 8 but fewer than 16 players. In order to play the tournament out properly, the tournament will first need to be brought down to 8 players. We offer Heads-Up tournaments with byes and without byes. In the above example with 10 players entered , the last two players to register would not get to play, as 8 is the nearest power of two which is less than A Hyper-Turbo event is one in which the blind levels increase extremely quickly — even faster than in a Turbo tournament.

Hyper-Turbo satellites are a great way to quickly win your seat in an event just a few minutes before it begins. We also offer ' 4-Max ' events with 4 seats at each table. Some poker variations are always played with 6 or fewer seats at the table.

Examples are 8-Game Mix and Deuce to Seven Triple Draw. Please note that in 4-Max tournaments, the final table will form when 5 players remain. This is done to remove the inequity of having one table play 3-handed and the other one heads-up.

Each player then decides how many of the available stacks they want to start with, and how many to keep in reserve for later. A player can reload add available remaining stacks later.

The total number of available stacks for each player is posted in the tournament lobby and is the same for all players in that event. There is no additional cost for adding an available stack.

For example, a player in a Multi-Stack tournament may have five stacks of 1, chips available, for a total of 5, chips. At the start of the tournament, that player may choose to play with the minimum of one stack 1, chips , or can choose to add any or all of their four remaining stacks at that time.

These buttons will only be visible if stacks are still available. Note: Stacks will be added at the end of the current hand; they will not be in play during the current hand. If a player loses all of their chips in play, they will be offered the option to add any remaining stacks, and will be required to add at least one stack.

If only one stack remains, it will be automatically added. Once a player loses all of their chips in all of their stacks, they are eliminated from the tournament.

A limited amount of time will be available for players to add available stacks, as specified in the tournament lobby. In a Multi-Table Tournament MTT , players start with an equal, fixed number of chips.

When you run out of chips, you are eliminated from the tournament. Eventually, the last few surviving players with chips are brought together at the final table, where the winner is the individual who wins all the chips from his or her opponents. Cash prizes are awarded to top finishers based on the number of tournament entries.

The Difference Between Zoom and Regular Poker Tables. The reason why is because the strategic differences between Zoom and the regular games just aren't large enough to warrant it.

Pokerstars has done a great job marketing Zoom and it is still wildly popular with recreational players and grinders alike over two years since its release in May of However, at the end of the day it is still just the same game of poker.

There are a couple of key differences between Zoom and regular poker games though that I will go into here. The most obvious difference that anyone will notice right away is the speed of Zoom when compared to a regular table.

Because of the fast fold button which allows you to simply fold hands that you don't want to play instead of waiting for the action to be on you Zoom tables deal somewhere in the neighbourhood of 4 times as many hands per hour as a regular table.

Or if you are a live player it might be 10 or 12 times as fast as you are used to. Obviously this doesn't change anything about the actual game. It just speeds up the action considerably and allows you to get to the interesting hands that you want to play a lot faster.

It is a brilliant idea and obviously great for grinders because they can get an incredible amount of hands in. It is also great for recreational players because they don't have to wait for some 24 tabler who is timing out on a simple preflop decision.

They don't even have to wait to get dealt in. They can sit down and start splashing the virtual chips around immediately which is exactly what they want.

Lack of Information in Zoom. The second most obvious difference with regards to Zoom is the big lack of information. With player pools on Pokerstars regularly in the hundreds of people at the micro and small stake levels you might only see the same person once every 20 hands or so.

It is obviously therefore a lot harder to build up a reasonable sample on someone when compared to the regular tables where you collect data on them every single hand. This creates a different dynamic to the game.

You can't take a sophisticated line against a reg based off of a mountain of data that you have collected on him. However it is also a two way street.

They don't have much information on you either. In a way it is more like "real poker" as some live players might argue. But the important point is that you simply have to play more ABC by the book poker in many situations due to this lack of information.

This isn't always a bad thing. I have discussed many ways to abuse this information gap in my training videos by simply getting more aggressive than normal in a lot of common spots. Most of the mass multi-tabling nits won't have much information on you and they will just "wait for a better spot.

IF A REG THAT PLAYS 4TABLES and plays huge volume in a month STARTS SUN RUNNING INSANE FOR EXAMPLE for k HANDS IN A BIG PLAYER POOL HE WILL HURT PLAYER BASE VERY BADLY FOR PLAYERS THAT JUST DEPOSITED they will just leave.

I need to jump into z for easier play and better variance , I know one z reg who played z 3x more players, more recs and got -6bb khands stretch WITH POOL SELECT with impossible to win on showdown, and has k hands 5bb in z zoom with 2x harder player pool.
